Yoga For Healthy Abdominals

Location: 1360 Fremont Blvd, Seaside
Session A: Slim Your Waist with Yoga (1:00-3:00pm)
The first session will be an active workshop, focusing on classic
abdominal poses, as well as twists and inversions to tone and strengthen
the intestinal muscles, the abdomen and lower back muscles (the
“core”), and slim the waist. Strengthening weak abdominal muscles can
also relieve lower back pain and help to relieve chronic digestive
problems such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
Session B: Restorative Yoga for the Abdomen & Digestion (3:30-5:30pm)
The second session of the workshop will be restorative, focusing on
poses for improving digestion as well as relieving the discomfort of
chronic and acute abdominal problems such as indigestion, bloating, gas,
acid reflux, heartburn and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). We’ll do
poses to relax and extend the abdomen, including supine poses and gentle
inversions, using props to maximize relaxation.
Cost: $30 each session or $55 for both
Student & military: $25 for each session or $45 for both
Denise Wendler is a certified Iyengar Instructor. She is a patient
teacher who's goal is to not only coach people to greater strength and
flexibility, but to also guide them to a focused center of
self-awareness. For that is where all great journeys begin.
